Venerable MARIA CROCIFISSA COSTANTINI

Faustina Geltrude Costantini (in religious life, Mother Maria Crocifissa di Gesù) was the superior of the first convent of Passionist Nuns.

On 3 May 1771, a small group of postulants led by Mother Maria Crocifissa Costantini, first superior and co-foundress, following a period of great difficulty, solemnly entered the monastery at Tarquinia, the cradle of the future Congregation of the Nuns of the Passion of Jesus Christ. There she would according to the divine inspiration that was given to St. Paul of the Cross for them.
She was declared Venerable in 1982.
