The Holy Father appointed auxiliary bishops for the Metropolitan Archdiocese of La Paz (Bolivia) Rev. Mario Luis Durán Berríos, until now pastor of the church of Santo Domingo, assigning him the titular See of Lambiridi; Rev. Basilio Mamani Quispe, until now pastor of the church of Santisimo Sacramento assigning him the titular See of Naisso; and Rev. Fr. Pedro Luis Fuentes Valencia, C.P., until now pastor of El Señor de la Exaltación, assigning him the titular See of Temuniana.

Bishop Pedro Luis Fuentes Valencia, C.P., was born on 7 June 1968 in La Paz (Bolivia), in the same city and Archdiocese. Initially a member of the Identes Institute of Christ the Redeemer, with whom he began his studies in theology, he entered the Congregation of the Passion of Jesus Christ in 1998, for which he was ordained a priest on 19 June 2004.
He obtained a Licentiate in Dogmatic Theology from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in Madrid, Spain (2009).
He was assigned to the following ministries: the Parish of Ayo Ayo, Prelature of Corocoro (2004-2006); Assistant parish priest at the shrine of St. Gemma, Madrid, Spain (2007-2010) and since 2010 until now, parish priest of Señor de la Exaltación and since 2012, Vicar Forane of the Southern Zone of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of La Paz.
