From January 9 to 30, the Canonical visit to the Vice Province of SAINT GEMMA in Tanzania was conducted by General Consultor Fr. Aurelio Miranda, cp. During the visit, the Consultor visited all religious communities and all places where the Passionists in Tanzania carry out their ministry.
These include parishes, reception houses, dispensaries, hospitals, nurseries, secondary schools, and more. Through the visit, the Consultor was also able to verify the great flourishing of vocations in Africa. In fact, the GEMM Vice Province today works together with other African entities to form new Passionists.
There are 4 formation houses: in Veyula the Aspirancy house, in Arusha the postulancy-philosophy house, in Itololo the novitiate, and in Morogoro the theology house. The Passionist mission is already well-established through many years of presence in the area and is now expanding thanks to many local vocations.
In this way, the Passionists are now present in areas where they had not reached before, solidly continuing the work begun many years ago by Italian missionaries.
