Today, March 9th, more than 10 thousand Alpine troops arrived at the Shrine of St. Gabriel (TE) for the 33rd annual gathering of Abruzzo’s Alpine troops.

The “black feathers” came predominantly from the Abruzzo, Molise, Marche, Lazio provinces, but there also were participants from other Italian regions.

After an extensive procession from Isola del Gran Sasso to the Shrine, the Alpine troops participated in a Mass in memory of the fallen soldiers of Selenyj-Jar (Russia), during the Russian campaign of 1942.
